Jennifer Steinberg, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

You never have to navigate your struggles alone.

Do you feel like you're stuck in a tornado of stressful thoughts? You're not broken, and you're not alone. Together we can address anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, intrusive thoughts, and negative core beliefs. In our work, we'll bring self-compassion to the table, not shame or self-criticism.

I honor the courageous choice you've made in seeking counseling. It can be daunting to start therapy, but I try to make sure that spending time with me isn't. My therapy room is an inclusive, affirming space, so please come as your lovely authentic self.

Meet Jennifer!

My clients describe me as nonjudgmental, personable, and trustworthy.

I take a person-centered, strengths-based approach to therapy, tailoring each session to empower you. Yes, we will talk about what is hard for you at the moment, but I will help you see just how capable you are at managing whatever life throws your way. I specialize in anxiety, depression, OCD, and eating disorder therapy. With that work I also support trauma recovery and families navigating conflict.

My clients share that our sessions feel like a rare space of safety and acceptance, especially when the outside world feels critical or overwhelming. I move at your pace, never rushing the process, and give you space to open up when you're ready.

Clients appreciate the balance of depth and lightness in our work. We may process deeply, but there's also room for humor and moments of ease. Many leave sessions feeling more grounded, encouraged, and empowered—with greater clarity around their values, relationships, and boundaries.

I'm inspired by those powerful "a-ha" moments—when something clicks, and you begin to truly believe in yourself. Whether it's breaking free from intrusive thoughts, anxiety, depression, or disordered eating patterns, I've seen how therapy can be a transformative tool for healing and self-discovery.

I love working with clients from all walks of life, including those who are new to therapy or uncertain about where to begin. You don't need the "right words" or even a clear goal—showing up is enough. I bring warmth, patience, and gentleness, always honoring your pace. For clients who enjoy creative outlets, I often incorporate journaling or poetry prompts as tools for reflection between sessions.

Creating an inclusive and affirming space is at the heart of my work. I'm mindful of how race, gender, identity, and culture shape our experiences, and I'm LGBTQ+ affirming. Respect, trust, and cultural humility guide everything I do.

Outside of sessions, I find joy in playing guitar, exploring nature with my dog Brooklyn, writing poetry, thrifting, and connecting with friends at book club. I also enjoy creative hobbies like painting and scrapbooking. I believe in practicing what I teach by maintaining balance and finding moments of joy in everyday life.
