Kailynn Ortiz, Adult & Teen Trauma Specialist in CT
Helping teens and young adults navigate anxiety, ADHD, life's transitions, and everything in between with confidence, curiosity, and compassion.
Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you're already carrying stress, anxiety, or uncertainty. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported . . . from the very beginning. I believe healing starts with feeling safe enough to show up exactly as you are—without judgment and without having to have it all figured out.
Clients often tell me they feel comfortable opening up because I'm genuine, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to. I believe therapy works best when you feel accepted for who you are, so my goal is to create a space where we can better understand what's been weighing on you, recognize your strengths, and help you move toward the life you want. We'll work together every step of the way.
One of my favorite parts of this work is what I think of as "planting seeds." Sometimes we get to witness incredible growth together, and other times those seeds take root long after therapy has ended. Either way, meaningful change often begins with small moments of insight, courage, and hope.
I especially enjoy working with teens and young adults who are navigating anxiety, ADHD, perfectionism, behavioral challenges, or major life transitions. Whether you're struggling with self-confidence, adjusting to a new season of life, or simply feeling overwhelmed, we'll work together to better understand your experiences, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Because every person is unique, I take an individualized approach to therapy rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, trauma-informed care, and strength-based approaches, we will create a treatment plan that fits your unique needs and goals.
What that means for you . . .
Therapy with me isn't about checking boxes or following a script. It's about getting to know you: what you've been through, what's keeping you stuck, and what kind of support feels most helpful.
Together, we'll find practical strategies that fit your life while creating space for deeper understanding, confidence, and meaningful change.

Outside of the therapy office, you'll usually find me spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, traveling, hiking, relaxing at the beach, working out, or cheering on my favorite sports teams. I believe staying curious about ourselves and others helps us build deeper connections, and I strive to bring that same curiosity, authenticity, and compassion into every session.
