CBT, Family Systems & Play Therapy Informed
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) refers to the counseling paradigm in which a psychotherapist identifies how a client’s patterns of thinking and feeling impacts behavior, and vice versa. For kids, this looks a lot like building emotional intelligence by increasing emotional identification, exploring regulatory strategies, and connecting chosen actions to consequences.

Family Systems model is a therapeutic paradigm that assesses the different roles, rules, rituals, and dynamics that make a family function. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and when working with children we keep that in mind. We utilize the family systems model to identify how dynamics within the family and with other stakeholders can best support our clients.

Kids learning language is play. With Play Therapy, we can teach social skills by playing with dolls, teach how to express feelings through color, role play conflict resolution with puppets, and so much more.
